If love is so dangerous, let's all go to
war!
In India, recently we
had many so called 'honor killings' where unfortunate lovers who had dared to
defy, met a bitter end. In India we have many castes among Hindus and marrying
out of your caste is still considered a taboo, often sacrificing lovers at the
altar of so called 'Honor' of the Caste. This poem is in remembrance of these
LOVERS. This poem is also a protest against the taming of a thing as natural as
love. The killing and maiming should end.
The word Pyaar here
means Love
If love Is so
dangerous, let's all go to war!
Pray never say love,
Pray never chant pyaar.
Listen O' Ye readers,
story of Pinki and her friend,
Killed coldly as they
were, for an honours' end.
Pinki was a girl, and
her friend was a boy.
He was not macho, she
was not coy.
Simple as ever, as two
souls had lived,
Carried on their
lives, and never had they cribbed.
Dimples on her cheeks
and wit on his sleeves,
She liked his ways when
he acted as if Jeeves.
So bewitching a looks,
so enchanting a laughter,
Their hearts had met,
and mirth came after.
Their love was pure,
their love was chaste,
Alas! They were but of
different caste.
See as they say, and
their saying goes fast,
Your hatred can
linger, your love can't last.
Story goes ahead, and
as a matter of fact
Custodians of caste,
caught them in the act.
What crime! What
audacity! You have loved this man,
Your love, don't you
know, sullied the honour of your clan.
You criminals! You
live, and you talk and you walk with glee,
Nothing could they do,
but, hide, hush and flee.
To the town, by the
road, from the village, as they went,
Their foes, on their
toes, in the end, got their scent.
The Law and the People
and the Police kept silent,
Had they acted with
courage! Had they been but valiant!
Honour was kept, and
the lives were spent,
Slew them coldly,
'Twas honour with they went.
'Tis honour that we
seek, and honour is our prayer,
If you don't fall in
line, your father be your slayer.
Beware! O Ye folks,
Love according to the laws,
Be ready, or else,
crushed coldly in our paws.
So fools will
remember, so fools may cry,
Like a dog, in the
night, howling to sky.
If love Is so
dangerous, let's all go to war!
Pray never say love,
Pray never chant pyaar.

What a kind gesture, I know of so many homeless on our streets, I weep for and try to help. Many are there not on their own accord, simply broken souls who lost very much. All we can do is be a comforter to them and show them our kindness whenever we can. Beautiful words my poet.
